For nearly 100 years, Kelly’s Butchers has been operating in Newport, Co. Mayo. Located in the heart of the Great Western Greenway, along the Wild Atlantic Way, the butcher shop has grown to a team of over 20 employees. We serve our produce across Ireland and internationally. Over 90 years ago in 1930 Dominick Kelly opened a modest butcher’s shop on the main street of Newport, Co. Mayo. The shop served the local area of Newport and the barony of Burrishoole.
From the very start, Dominick enjoyed having his sons, Sean and Seamus, helping around the butcher shop. This was the start of a long and bright future for the family butchers. In 1974, Seamus and Seán took over the business.
Then, in the third generation of family butchery, the team began to hone their craft. Producing black and white pudding and sausages that stormed the international stage since the early 1990’s. Since then, the awards have continued to roll in, including the IFFA Awards, Blas na hÉireann, and the Good Food Awards.
In 2015, we opened our new facility where we produce our award-winning puddings and sausages. The new factory has enabled us to increase manufacturing capacity and supply customers across the island of Ireland and the international market.
We have our own abattoir with an EU licence and are true artisan butchers dealing with every aspect of butchering.
Today, Kelly’s Butchers serves customers nationwide, direct to their door. Our hand-crafted artisan produce can be ordered online for delivery across the Republic of Ireland or for Click & Collect in the shop. You can shop our full range of produce here.
