We’ve received many awards and honours over the years from organisations such as the Great Taste Awards, Blás na hEireann, Craft Butchers of Ireland, Food & Wine Magazine, Good Food Ireland and the Small Firms Association. We’ve also won awards abroad, competing against international competition. Seán Kelly was the first man in Ireland to be made a Knight of the Boudin Noir by the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Goute-Boudin from Mortagne-au-Perche, France.

We proudly earned two gold and one silver awards in the inaugural National Irish Steak Challenge. We received gold for our succulent rib eye steaks and fillet steaks, and second prize for the striploin steaks.
We received international recognition at the world’s leading trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany, picking up 8 medals, five gold, two silver, and one bronze. The Gold medals were awarded for our Black Pudding, Smoked White Pudding, White Pudding with Cranberry, White Pudding with Seaweed and Smoked Dry Cured Rashers. The two Silver medals were for our Hazlett and White Pudding. Our High Protein Vegetarian Pudding completed the honours list with a bronze medal. The high total of gold medals (five) earned Kelly’s Butchers a special trophy from the German Butchers’ Association in honour of their achievement.
In 2025, our Hazlett received silver at The Irish Food Awards – Blas na hÉireann Awards 2025 in Dingle, Co. Kerry. This is the second time our Hazlett has been recognised by the Irish Food Awards (receiving silver in 2021).
One of our proudest achievements in 2024 was receiving The Good Food Ireland® Meat Producer of the Year & Overall Producer of the Year. It was an honour to be recognised not only for our trade but also for our operations, securing both meat producer and overall producer awards.
Kelly’s Butchers burst into the top five black and white pudding brands sold in supermarkets in 2022, securing fourth place. It’s a great achievement to be recognised by consumers nationwide.
We were honoured to receive the gold award becoming Energia Family Food/Drinks Producer of the Year 2021. Recognised for our multi-generational artisan butchery, famous puddings, and contribution to Irish local food production.
We were delighted to win the Best Meats category at these prestigious breakfast awards presented in association with Fáilte Ireland. Kelly’s products are on some of the best breakfast menus in the country.
